IKEA App Redesign

Learning the basics of User Research and Interaction Design through identifying flaws in the IKEA app and proposing solutions to those problems.

Duration: 6 weeks
Context: My first UX project in college (year 1)

Research

Three user interviews and a survey helped me to understand how people use the IKEA app - shopping and browsing. User interviews, combined with app audit helped me identify key usability issues and gave direction to the project.

Issues Identified

During research, I learned that IKEA delivers products from a separate warehouse. Even if a given item is in stock in the Dublin store, it might not be available for delivery to a Dublin address. Lack of this information in the app lead to confusion and user frustration.
